The containers placed at various points around the capital are not effective in collecting the waste generated, and are also subject to constant vandalism.

About 180 containers are located around the city in Sector 2 and they collect approximately 15-20 tons of waste per month. The waste is divided into the paper/cardboard – 2.2 tons, plastic/PET – 3 tons, and glass – 4 tons. In some areas, the waste is separated (for example in Floreasca), and since it is not collected as mixed-waste, the total amount of domestic waste collected becomes low and is easier to handle.

• Place containers specific to recyclable items so that they are not mixed with the other waste (plastic, paper, glass). Put a large sign on the container to emphasize on the idea of waste division so residents take care when disposing their household waste items.
